In collaboration with H.J. Hansen in Odense a 25,25m lorry has been built with the purpose of collecting scrap iron in Sweden.
The idea of building a module lorry has come from H.J. Hansen who has been driving transport jobs in Sweden with a normal Danish lorry which could carry 2 cases and a weight of 48 tons. The module lorry can carry 3 cases and a weight of 60 tons. With customers situated in most of the southern part of Sweden, it is very significant for the economy that the lorry can carry an extra case per transport.
The lorry is a Scania 165-140 topliner with a hoist-hook coupled on to a dolly which is coupled on to a transfer-trailer. The lorry can carry a 7,5m case and the trailer can carry a 6,1m case and a 7,5m case.
The lorry has initially been driven by one driver but in the future the idea is that the lorry must have 2 drivers doing shiftwork in order to make use of the extra capacity.
