Transport company Alex Andersen Ølund gets FloraHolland corporate style
FloraHolland, 22 July 2009 – Last week Tanco Reclame in Naaldwijk transformed the trailer truck of Danish transport company Alex Andersen Ølund so it now flies the FloraHolland colours. Andersen is the first foreign transport company to carry the FloraHolland corporate style
For years, Alex Andersen has been the vital link between Danish growers and FloraHolland. He acts as the point of contact for ensuring the very best logistics services for Danish suppliers and FloraHolland exporters when it comes to trade with Denmark. He is also the contact for the import department where products supplied from Denmark for the clock are transferred from CC containers to auction trolleys.
Ever-increasing supply of products from Denmark
This new alliance has been triggered by the ever-increasing supply to FloraHolland from Danish growers. In 2008, supply grew by almost 70% and it has increased by a further 30% in the first half of 2009. Danish suppliers increasingly regard the auction as their Gateway to Europe, a role which FloraHolland aims to expand and develop even further. Danish growers of pot plants continue to grow products that are no longer available from Dutch suppliers or never were. For such products, the auction sees great prospects for both suppliers and buyers.
Existing Danish suppliers make optimum use of the various FloraHolland marketplaces. The growing numbers of new suppliers are also helping widen and deepen the assortment available. At FloraHolland, Danish pot plants are sold both via the clock and through direct sales via FloraHolland Connect (50/50). The availability of typical niche products makes the FloraHolland Connect direct sales option especially attractive to auction customers.
