Alex Andersen Ølund A/S' department in Aarhus was established on the 1st of July 1994 and is thereby the oldest subdivision of the company situated outside Funen. The establishment of the department happened in close connection to the acquisition of Båring Transport which had lorries claiming flower from the gardeners in Aarhus and delivering them to the exporters on Funen.

The department started up having 2 lorries with Kim Rasmussen and Per John Nielsen as drivers. In addition an office worker was hired to handle the administrative tasks. The department was growing at a steady pace until 1999 when we entered into agreement with Dansk Supermarked about packaging and distribution of flowers to Bilka and the A-Z-department stores. In 2001 we extended this agreement to also include all the Føtex-department stores.

Today our department in Aarhus is managing all the packaging activities and distribution to 17 Bilka/A-Z-department stores and to 87 Føtex-department stores.

The department currently has 23 lorries and use 5 external haulage contractors. We employ 9 office workers, 40 drivers and 23 terminal workers.

On an annual basis we handle 325.000 flower containers and other kinds of parcels in our terminal.
