In Alex Andersen Ølund A/S one of the most important services we can offer our customers is transports within our container freight concept. 

The container freight concept was introduced in 1995 at the request of a number of small wholesale dealers. Since then the concept has been developed at a steady pace. During the first couple of years it was implemented and used in Denmark, Sweden, and some regions of Norway. Today we are able to offer the container freight concept to all of our customers.

What is the container freight concept?

Container freight is a system where we transport the goods on a sort of flower container which can be adjusted so that it can be used to transport all kinds of flowers and plants. The concept has many advantages. It gives the customers a great deal of flexibility because they no longer have to sell a certain amount of flowers in order to be able to get them transported. With the container freight concept the customers only have to buy the space they need on the transport in question. It is not necessary to buy an entire lorry.   

When loading the lorry with cargo from different customers, the distance between the delivery adresses is shortened and consequently the costs will  be lower. This also means that  it is easier to respect the customers deadlines.

To the customers who wish to use the container freight concept we send out  zone maps and zone prices. We are able to do this because we have built up a strong physical network of terminals which makes it possible to optimize the routes and make use of the total capacity. All in all the customers benefit from the optimizing process.

As an extra service we offer administration-management of the containers and shelves which are all rented by Containercentralen. Using this service the customers will have the benefit of not having to manage, rent or, invest in containers. 

If the customer wishes to buy a lorry on mileage allowance or hourly wage, we can to a certain extent offer this service as well.
