Since the modest beginning in 1964 Alex Andersen Ølund A/S has developed into becoming one of the leading haulage contractor businesses in Denmark. We specialize in distribution of flowers, other types of temperature sensitive cargo, and parcels of all kinds. As a modern contractor business we also undertake a wide variety of other tasks related to distribution. As an example we undertake packaging control and contract packaging for a number of customers.

The foundation of the company was a local freight route, a milk delivery route and transportation of rocks and gravel. In 1976 a group of local gardeners asked Elin and Alex Andersen about the possibility of taking up flower distribution. The business has literally been blossoming ever since.

Flower distribution has become the lifeblood of the company and we have been expanding continuously to be able to keep up with demands and to be able to uphold our promise of high quality and punctual deliveries. In a short amount of time we have started up new departments in Aarhus and Greve and a subsidiary in Helsingborg, Sweden. We can proudly say that we have been the largest distributor of flowers in Scandinavia for a long time.

In 2006 we bought the company Ove Østergaard - Lund ApS which is a well known name in the business and also one of the largest distributors of Danish flowers to Germany, England, Holland, Belgium, and France. Moreover Ove Østergaard has subsidiaries in Holland and Luxembourg. Just like us Ove Østergaard - Lund ApS has developed an expert knowlegde in terms of flower distribution.

In 2007 the employees from the two companies joined forces in the head office in Stige. Together we stand strong in the European context. We have become leaders in the market of flower distribution on a European level and we have created a strong network of terminals for reloading. This enables us to make the transports to and from the different places in Europe more effective. It also makes it possible to undertake packaging jobs which the customers benefit from.

Today Alex Andersen Ølund A/S consists of approximately 550 employees globally. About 340 of these are drivers who are constantly on the road. To make all of these tansports possible we have our own fleet of cars with about 220 lorries with trailers.
