1964 – 1976  
In 1664 Alex Andersen bought the Freight- and haulage contractor business from Robert Jensen who wanted to focus on the tourist bus industry.

The company was growing fast and this was primarily due to Alex Andersens disciplined time management and the good relationship he had with each customer.

Soon after Elin came into the picture and started managing the paperwork. Ever since they have divided the tasks between them.

During the first couple of years Alex and Elin transported milk, beets and gravel. But in 1976 six local gardeners from the North of Funen asked about the possibility of them taking up flower distribution. It was Elin and a driver who started distributing flowers in a small delivery van.

1977 – 1994
While the 80's was a tough decade for most of the businesses on Funen, Alex Andersen Ølund A/S was growing at its own stubborn pace. In 1994 the business suddenly took off. Alex Andersen takes over Båring Blomster, starts exporting, opens a new department in Aarhus, moves the business to new premises in Stige and changes into A/S. In 1994 the company has 45 lorries and 70 employees and that year Elin and Alex recieve the business award in Otterup. The chairman of "Erhvervsrådet" at that time, Per Hedegaard, commented on the choice using these words:

"This married couple have understood the art of combining hard work with a steady progress so that their company has become one of the largest and most recognized haulage contractor companies in the business. By setting a good example for the 70 employees, Elin and Alex Andersen have created a team spirit where responsibility, honesty, and friendliness are parts of the company image..." 

1995 – 2007

Alex Andersen Ølund A/S is part of the circle of significant business on Funen. The company is still family owned with Elin and Alex occupying important posts. Their three sons have become joint owners and a generational change is beginning to take shape. Now the company has about 140 lorries and about 250 employees. The head office is still located on Funen but now departments in Greve and in Helsingborg are opened.

Alex Andersen has a fine-meshed net of routes covering most of the country with pick ups several times a day and reloads several places in the country. "I think that we are chosen because of our quality and reliability. For our costumers it is crucial that they can trust us and that we respect agreements and deadlines..." says Elin in an interview to a local newspaper in 1998.

In 2006 Alex Andersen Ølund A/S bought the haulage contractor company Ove Østergaard - Lund ApS and in 2007 the staff of the two companies were put together in the offices in Stige. With the merger we are standing stronger today and our market area has expanded into large parts of Central Europe.
