In Alex Andersen Ølund A/S it is our vision to extend our international position to be able to give the customers an overall solution. As the leader of the market we can give our customers the advantage of only having to contact one haulage contractor who can handle both the transport from consignor to the recipient and all the packaging activities regardless of the amount. Focusing on this we are primarily concentrating on using our own offices and car fleet. 

Using the newest IT- and logistic solutions is also a high priority. This focus stems from the acknowledgment that optimizing the information technology is necessary and becoming an increasingly  important competitive parameter in the business of distribution and logistics. 

As part of this vision we have bought  an economy- and management system from Logica. The economy system is Navision 4.0 which is a modern and flexible system. The management system is called CargoVision and is made as an extension to Navision 4.0. CargoVision is very flexible and allows organizing across departments. In addition to this CargoVision will be connected to a newly developed module - packaging registration - developed especially to meet our specific demands and needs.

Furthermore, we have bought a complete fleet-managing system from Locus A/S which has been integrated with CargoVision. The system consists of a Fleetmanager and a CAPfleet with FleetPC. In addition to this we have bought a mobile solution based on handheld terminals to be used in the rented lorries during the peak season.

The total IT-solution brings with it many advantages. Our work routines have become very dynamic and our planning and utilization of our resources have improved. Moreover the system increases the level of information which our costumers also benefit from because we offer this information via our website.

Today the system has been implemented in the majority of the departments of the company and is continuously tested and under further development.

As part of the optimizing process the plan is to establish a new logistical center situated in Odense so that all the packaging activities and reloads can be gathered and optimized. The plans for building a new head office close to the motorway with room for 300 lorries have become very relevant after the fusion with Ove Østergaard - Lund ApS.
